Winners of the Celebrate Australia Primary School Art Competition were announced during the Gladstone City Council's Australia Day celebrations at the Gladstone Marina.

300 works were received from local young artists in this year's competition. The colourful and imaginative paintings, drawings and collages were greatly admired throughout the evening.

The competition winners are:

Port Curtis photographers are urged to select their two favourite images for entry into the annual Intercity Images - Saiki and Gladstone Photographic Exchange.

Local photographers of all ages and experience are invited to share images of their surrounding community, lifestyle and environment, to be displayed at the gallery/museum during Easter.

The Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum will be closed for the Australia Day weekend from Saturday, 26 January to Monday, 28 January 2008.

The Gallery/Museum will be hosting free art workshops guided by local artist Krystie Smoothy on Tuesday December 18 and Thursday December 20, 10am - 12:30pm.

The art workshops are being held in conjunction with the Gladstone City Council's Celebrate Australia art competition and will provide a creative environment for any young artists looking for that winning inspiration.
