Remembrance Day 2025: Beyond the Battlefield

-

Our soldiers make incredible sacrifices on the frontlines, experiencing unimaginable hardships and facing the horrors of war that draw on unfathomable courage to endure. Beyond the battlefields, there is a network of men, women, and animals contributing in powerful ways to support their success; these quiet heroes ensure the continued hum of activity both on the home front and on foreign soil. This exhibition shines a light on the vital contributions of these support groups.

These sometimes-forgotten components of the war effort reveal that the battle is not fought with weapons alone, but with the help of healing hands, a serving of hot tea, or the comfort of a song sung by visiting entertainers. Those who bridged the gap between the home front and the battlefield stand as a testament to the enduring human capacity for solidarity, resilience and compassion in the darkest of times.
