TERM 2

28 April - 16 June

28 April - Stars and Flowers: We’ll create our own bright and colourful star and/or flower collages using a simple method of folding and cutting paper while exploring symmetry along the way.

5 May - Lots of Lids: Using lots and lots of up-cycled plastic lids we’ll learn about colour and pattern-making in a fun and hands-on way, combined with some awesome big drawing activities.

12 May - Create your own flag & decorate our street banner: We’ll use our collective creativity to decorate the Tuesday ArtPlay banners to show off to passers-by how awesome we are, plus make our own personalised flags to take home.

19 May - Sun prints: Using specially prepared paper, we’ll use the power of the sun to make ‘shadow-prints’ of leaves, toys and our hands to keep as lasting treasures.

26 May - Saiki Sister City, Japanese inspirations: Inspired by the Saiki Sister City exhibition we’ll explore some crafts inspired by Japanese culture. Using paper plates, we can make fans and also koi fish - colouring and decorating them using oil pastels and water colour paints.

2 June - Reconciliation Week: Children will experiment with a limited palette of white and earthy colours to express themselves on a variety of natural objects.

9 June - Catchers of Light: Using craft glue and paint we’ll create some beautiful semi-transparent paintings to hang in a window or near a light.
