Call to Local Artist’s!
Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum seeks to commission a courtyard mural, by one or multiple local artists. The successful applicant/s EOI will celebrate the unique stories, people and landscapes, which encapsulate the identity of the Gladstone Region and its history.
Through photographs, artworks and hands-on activities, visitors are immersed into Central Queensland and our Sister City, Saiki City’s lifestyle and environment.
Four annual exhibitions combine with Intercity Images, Celebrate Australia, Saiki Children's Art and Japanese craft that celebrate the unique lifestyles and cultural exchange between the Gladstone Regional and Saiki, Japan as part of
Be guided to create a colourful sunset seascape with watercolour. Lani will demonstrate and explain watercolour painting techniques, which they will practise and then apply to the final piece.
Participants will finish with an A3 painting to take home. All materials supplied which will include high quality watercolour paper and paints.

Inspired by The Octopus Woman: A Tribute to Maria exhibition, participants are invited to explore and express a personal connection or bond, whether to another person, an object, an idea, or an aspect of themselves, through sculptural form.
Using air‑dry clay, each participant will create a unique inspired piece that symbolises this connection in a personal and meaningful way.

Be introduced to the linocut process and the materials required to produce single colour prints. The chine colle method of adding areas of colour to prints will also be explored.
Participants will need to bring a black and white image of leaves, seedpods, sticks or similar forms found in situ on an area of ground for inspiration from which images can be drawn. Larger clearer shapes will be
Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum are hosting Artist Talks by Geoffrey Head and Andreia Pereira, talking to their current exhibitions, creative process and artistic careers.
There will be opportunity to ask questions and mingle with the artists after the talks, light refreshments provided.
