About the course
In this course local award-winning artist Ping Carlyon will teach you how to create a portrait using watercolour over 8 weeks. You will discover how to tackle skin and hair texture, sketch, draw and paint mouth, nose and eyes. Ping will also share her tips about materials and tools, modelling agreements and selecting reference photos. At the end of the course you will put

Tailored for children between 18 months to 5 years old, the program is aimed at interactivity and visual art awareness, rather than creating a finished product. Let your little adventurer experience art through play and don't worry about the mess.

As a part of Youth Week, we are inviting young people to join us for an exciting new installation in the Gallery & Museum courtyard. Hosted by award-winning Central Queensland artist Katrina Elliot, the workshop will let you use your creativity in creating bright wire birds.
