Nominate for a place on the 2021/22 RADF Committee and make a difference

The Gladstone Regional Council Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is seeking nominations from interested community members during the 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The AGM will be held at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum at 5pm, Wednesday, 15 September 2021.

RADF is a strong and vital partnership between the Queensland Government and Gladstone Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

Each year, Council lodges an official application for funding from Arts Queensland, and together with an allocation from Council and through locally determined policy and assessment procedures, RADF funds the development of arts and cultural activities throughout the community.

Gladstone Regional Council will receive $54,500 in funding for the 2021/22 RADF year.

Gladstone Region Councillor and RADF chair Glenn Churchill said the 2021/22 RADF year proposes two community funding rounds, as well as two strategic projects for the region, including a collaborative artist project and training opportunities.

“When groups and individuals make an application to be funded for specific activities each round, it is the role of the Committee to decide, in accordance with the RADF Guidelines, if the application meets the criteria and is eligible to recommend for funding,” Councillor Churchill said.

“The role of a RADF Committee member is of vital importance, but prospective members should not feel daunted by this as the role includes mentoring and members also participate in RADF Committee training.

This is a fantastic way to make a real difference in advancing the arts in the Gladstone Region, surrounded by many like-minded individuals.

RADF Committee nominations close on Tuesday, 14 September 2021 prior to the AGM and the current sitting committee members have prepared an informative video for potential nominees to consider.”
