Flying Art Waterless Lithography workshop 4 - 5 December 2010
Artist Marguerite de Fondaumiere is visiting Gladstone to run the Waterless Lithography workshop for locals, December 4 and 5 as part of Flying Arts’ 2010 Artists on Tour workshop program.
The workshop will be hosted at the Gallery/Musuem, from 10.30am to 4.30pm, both days.
Locals will be encouraged to put their creative and artistic skills to work over the course of the weekend. Workshop tutor, Marguerite de Fondaumiere, said she was looking forward to exploring creative techniques with the artists.
“This is an introduction to waterless lithography, creating an image on an aluminum plate and printing using safe and non-toxic materials and methods,” Marguerite said.
“Participants will learn how to complete a small edition of hand pulled original prints,” she said.
Marguerite de Fondaumiere was born in country NSW and lives in Sydney. She is a contemporary artist working in the areas of painting, sculpture and printmaking. She has studied at the National Art School, Sydney, The Craft Academy of Mauritius, The Warringah Printmakers Studio and has lived and worked in Mauritius and exhibited internationally. Her research covers the fragility of the relationship between humans and the Earth.
Flying Arts Executive Officer, Stephen Clark, said the 2010 Artists on Tour program presented residents in rural and regional areas with a great opportunity to gain professional tutelage in artistic practice.
“We are fortunate to have an incredible range of professional artists such as Marguerite de Fondaumiere available to tour regional Queensland this year, she will have a lot to offer the community,” Stephen said.
