ATTENTION Gladstone Region Artists and Activity Providers 

Gladstone Regional Council (GRC) will be hosting our annual series of workshops Tuesday Art Play at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum, during each school term in 2023. The workshops will commence in the second week of each term and finish one week prior to the end of each school term. 


Tuesday Art Play aims to offer a series of interactive and visual art awareness workshops at the Art Gallery and Museum, tailored for children between 18 months to 5 years. Children are encouraged to get adventurous though art play and not worry about the mess!


GRC is calling on local artists and activity providers to facilitate a term of workshops. 
Term 1: Tuesdays, 31 January – March 21 (8 sessions)

Term 2: Tuesdays, 25 April – 13 June (8 sessions)

Term 3: Tuesdays, 18 July – 5 September (8 sessions)

Term 4: Tuesdays, 10 October – 28 November (8 sessions)


The Request for Service requires the candidate to:

  • Develop an eight-week workshop proposal for Tuesday Art Play aligning with the Arts and Entertainment calendar of events and ideally aligned to any major events in the Region, QLD and Australia.
  • If Gladstone Regional Council deem it unsafe to host the face to face activities, the artist must have the capability to create online tutorials each week of the term. The tutorials will be shared on GRC social media accounts, crediting the artist.
  • Outline how the tutor will be flexible if workshops must go virtual
  • Outline the tutor fee/ budget for the workshops – Please detail material and labour costs
  • Ensure the workshop is suitable for children aged 18 months – 5 years
  • Hold a current Blue Card – Working with children and young people card
  • Comply with COVID-19 Public Health Direction
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide basic First Aid
  • Provide minimum $20 million Public Liability Insurance

Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Local/regional connection
  • Workshop series aligning with the Arts and Entertainment calendar of events and major events in the Region, QLD and Australia.
  • Suitability of workshops for children ages 18 months – 5 years
  • Ability to hold a Blue Card and First Aid certificate
  • Comply with Public Liability requirements
  • Safety considerations
  • Previous experience facilitating similar workshops, with favourable feedback

 

The proposal is flexible to the applicant’s ideas, capabilities and their capacity to deliver.

Please reference the requirements of the Request for Services listed and outline the vision and scope of your eight-week workshop series in writing by close of business Monday 16 January 2023.
