Mostert’s exhibition Australien Future - tales of migration is on display at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, 13 April – 25 May 2019. The works in the exhibition draw parallels between migratory experiences in Australia for both people and birds. Imagery is drawn from Deb's family's migration, overlaid with the migration stories of our shorebirds.
Deb Mostert is a first generation Australian, both her parents having left the Netherlands with their families in the I 950's. The Mostert family initially lived in Gladstone in a small house on Glenlyon Street.
The exhibition is supported with funding by Arts Queensland - Queensland Arts Showcase Program.
