Festival of Summer
Join local artists at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, for a day of summer fun during Gladstone Regional Council's Days of Summer, part of the Festival of Summer.
Young people of the Gladstone Region are encouraged to book their tickets early for Gladstone Regional Council’s exciting Festival of Summer, January 12-18.
The Festival of Summer is a week-long festival, incorporating three signature events, the Opening Festival, Days of Summer and Festival of Summer Sounds.
During Days of Summer, the Gallery & Museum will host three workshops from 10.30am Tuesday, January 14, for ages 11 to 17 years Paint African Sunset Landscapes, DIY Succulent Garden and Botanical Watercolour.

10:30am – 12:30pm
Master the art of sunset landscapes! Explore different art mediums to perfect your painted sunset background and sketched silhouette images. Paint, pencil and melted crayons will help create your masterpiece.
1pm – 3pm
Create your own hand painted succulent garden! Paint a large Mexican style pot to house your succulent. Paint river rocks to place in the top of the pot. Take home your creation.
3.30pm – 5.30pm
Create your own artwork with an introduction to watercolour, with local artist Kirsty Anderson. Using professional watercolours, you’ll capture light and shade in botanicals. Paint, paper and brushes supplied. Take your artwork home to show off your skills!
