ABOUT THE TUTOR

Jan Ross-Manley is the artist and curator behind the Reef on Our Mind: The Great Barrier Reef in the Australian Psyche exhibition. The show is the result of Jan’s three-year investigation into how the Reef has come to hold such a dear place in the hearts and minds of Australians. Telling the story through art, objects and memorabilia, the exhibition shows how the colourful Wonder of the World has become a national treasure imprinted onto the very core of Aussie DNA.

Jan Ross-Manley has spent a lifetime working in all aspects of the arts including education, administration, community arts facilitation, documentation and curation of exhibitions. Jan is represented in various collections, including Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, Queensland Art Gallery, Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, The Wool Museum Geelong, The Shire of Diamond Valley Art Collection, McClelland House Collection, Caulfield Grammar School Collection.

Reef on Our Mind: The Great Barrier Reef in the Australian Psyche is supported by the Gladstone Regional Council Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) and made possible by the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, provided through Regional Arts Australia, administered in Queensland by Flying Arts Alliance. RADF is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Gladstone Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
