The book launch of War Memorials of the Gladstone Region is presented in conjunction with this year's ANZAC Day: Lest We Forget exhibition*.

The publication serves as a local guide to the Memorials within the Gladstone Region, honouring The Fallen and those who served Australia in the Armed Services. This comprises of all the War Memorials located in Agnes Water, Boyne Island, Calliope, Gladstone, Many Peaks, Miriam Vale, Mt Larcom, Polmaily, Raglan, Rosedale, Turkey Beach, Ubobo and Yarwun.  The book includes handy maps and access information, as well as transcribed wording and names from each Memorial. In addition to this information the book also features stunning photographs taken recently of the War Memorials, alongside heritage photographs.

The 112 page, magazine-sized, publication was created by staff and volunteers of the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum.  The materials collected were originally collated for the Queensland War Memorial Register which was compiled in 2009 and organised by the Queensland Department of Public Works, Queensland Government.

Copies of the First Edition of War Memorials of the Gladstone Region will be available for free from the Gallery & Museum, from ANZAC Day, 25 April 2017.

There are a limited number of books available so if you would like to obtain a copy for yourself or a family member, visit the front reception desk of the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum between 10am - 5pm, Monday to Saturday, after ANZAC Day.  The publication will be available to the public for free until all copies are gone. Copies will also be made available to Local and State Libraries.
