2022 CELEBRATE AUSTRALIA PRIMARY SCHOOL ART COMPETITION

Young artists of the Gladstone Region have the chance again, to get creative!

Gladstone Regional Council invites primary school aged children to put pen, paint, collage or any other medium to A4 paper during the 2022 Celebrate Australia Primary School Art Competition.

This is the 16th year of the competition encouraging students to think about an aspect of Australia they believe is really important to them.

To assist budding artists with their entry, local artist Leanne Cole will present a virtual printmaking workshop, available from 10 December 2021, for lots of creative fun at home.

Students may submit one entry each, accompanied by a completed entry form, in either Section One: Prep to Year 2 or Section Two: Year 3 to Year 6. The entry form is available for downloading below.

 

Submissions Close

4pm, Friday, 17 December 2021 and can be delivered to: Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, cnr Goondoon & Bramston Streets, Gladstone or posted to: PO Box 29, Gladstone QLD 4680.


Winners Announced

Wednesday, 26 January 2022, during Gladstone Regional Council’s Australia Day celebrations.

In 2022, entries will tour venues including: CQUniversity Gladstone Marina Campus, Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, Boyne Tannum Community Centre, Gladstone Airport, Gladstone City Library and Calliope Library.Digitised exhibitions of entries will also be displayed at selected Council venues throughout the year.

Fourteen selected artworks will be sent to Saiki City, Japan in conjunction with Japanese Children’s Day events
during October 2022.

Some fantastic prizes are on offer including, a Gladstone Cinemas Family Pass (2A & 2C).
