The 27th Golding Showcase: Port Curtis Callide Valley Youth Art Exhibition is showcasing young artists aged between 15 and 18 years old from the Port Curtis and Callide Valley areas.
This exhibition is a fantastic opportunity for young creatives to display their work in a professional gallery space.
Visitors can also get involved and support emerging artist of their choice by public vote. The artwork that receives the most votes will be featured on promotional material in 2022.
This is an annual display and an initiative of the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum Society, supported by the late society patron, Mr Cyril Golding (1920 – 2012).
Vie Du Pacifique III is a collection of stunning prints by Australian and international artists from the Pacific region, including works by Gladstone printmakers Irene Sparks, Geoff Head and Roslyn Head.
The collection is part of the international print exchange series initiated by Dr Jenny Sanzaro-Nishimura in 2011-12 as Vie Du Pacifique – Pacific Life: Pacific Perimeter Print Exchange.
This innovative exchange of contemporary prints gives the artists in the Pacific region an opportunity to share their work with international audiences and have a voice on issues in the region. A strong theme addressing climate change is running through the artworks in the current series.
Vie Du Pacifique III will be displayed with the two previous Vie Du Pacifique – Pacific Life series held in the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum collection.
Mirages and Illusions is presented by award-winning Central Queensland artist Elena Churilova. The exhibition features scenes from around the Gladstone Region and further along the CQ coast, interpreted in Elena’s distinctive style which combines reality and fantasy, with an extraordinary use of colour.
Elena’s creativity and skill have won her several awards, including The Pamela Whitlock Memorial Acquisitive Award in The 45th Rio Tinto Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards (2020), Moore Australia Acquisitive Award, Brigalow Arts Festival (2020) and LimeLife 500 Grant sponsored by Latitude 23 Arts Inc. and Arts Central Qld Inc. (2020), to name a few.
