Four Award winning local artists will feature at this year's Art Awards: Artist Talks, from 10.30am, Saturday 2 December 2017. This FREE program is run in conjunction with 'The 42nd Rio Tinto Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards 2017' which are currently on display at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum until December 7.

This year's speakers include:

  • Bindi Waugh: Winner of The Local Murri Artist Award, sponsored by Elizabeth and Leo Zussino, for her work, ‘Should Race Define Place’.
  • Rosemary Anderson: Winner of The Gail Sellers Local Artist Award, for her work, ‘A Drop of Salt Water’.
  • Claudia Wehrli: Winner of Section 3: Three Dimensional & Fibre Works, The O’Reilly Family Award, for her work, ‘Coral Bowl’.
  • Kyle Piper: Section 4: Digital Works, Highly Commended Award, for his work, ‘Gladstone’.

These four talented artists will each present a fascinating discussion on their preferred techniques, backgrounds and creative processes. The talks aim to highlight these local artist's practices, while a delivering meaningful and engaging program to the community.  

All are welcome to attend the FREE Art Awards: Artist Talks, with audience questions encouraged.
