Tripple Exhibition Launch: 6pm, Friday 3 March 2017
Join Mayor Burnett and special guests at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, 6pm, Friday 3 March 2017, for the official exhibition launch of the following three exhibitions:
Rockhampton artists, Nanette Balchin, Peta Lloyd and Emma Ward, have created a sense of journey, adventure and odyssey through their discovery and experience of places, people and curious things.
'Caravan of Curiosities' presents a wide diversity of 2D and 3D work including assemblage, artist books, encaustics, paintings, drawings, installation, printmaking, amulets and a collaborative work of curious 'Black Boxes'.
Award-winning artist, Beryl Wood, combines her love of art and fashion to present nineteen wearable art garments.
With a background in theatre and a fascination in dramatic costumes, Beryl has created works of art with wearability in mind. From recycled objects, to brightly coloured textiles, this playful exhibition invites audiences into yet another corner of Beryl's mind.
Now in its fifteenth year, 'Intercity Images' invited photographers of the Gladstone Region to capture the spirit of Central Queensland’s lifestyle, people and environment.
This year's exchange enticed local photographers to enter ninety-two photographs into the exhibition, all of which will be displayed. Thirty finalist images will be announced at Friday night's launch.
All are welcome to attend the event, with light refreshments served afterwards
