"The Unconventional Cellist" FREE performance
Take the opportunity to enjoy a free performance from The Unconventional Cellist, Kristin Rule while she visits the region as part of a 23-week tour of Australia on the back of her Suzuki SV1000 motorcycle.
Averaging about six free concerts per week in schools and regional communities, Kristin is able to perform in even the most remote areas, as behind her Suzuki is a purpose built trailer complete with an RAP Solar System.
Kristin graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Composition at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2000 and has studied in Paris under the direction of Eugene Kurtz, she later studied composition under the prominent Australian Composer Larry Sitsky before deciding to develop her improvisational and creative skills on the cello.
For anyone wishing to take the opportunity to experience this music of this unique artist, free public performances will be held Saturday May 9, in Gladstone's Library Square from 10am to 11am and at the Gallery/Museum from 3pm to 4pm.
The Unconventional Cellist tour is supported by the Federal Government Australia Council for the Arts.
