SUNfest calling for expressions of interest
While the winter woollies are still getting some use out of the wardrobes across the Gladstone region, another super summer event is heating up as preparations begin for Gladstone Regional Council’s premiere youth holiday program, SUNfest.
SUNfest was initiated in response to a Gladstone City Council Youth Needs Study in 1997 and the first SUNfest in 1998 offered 40 diverse workshops and activities including cartooning with Ginger Meggs creator James Kemsley, a concert by Human Nature and a basketball clinic with the Rockhampton Rockets.
Now’s your chance to shape this annual event just the way you like it, as the committee calls for SUNfest 2011 Expressions of Interest.
Presenters, venues, sponsors and participants have their chance to say who, what and where they’d like to see as part of their hot summer action for this exciting program that will be held across the Gladstone region, 10 to 22 January 2011.
To make sure you’re on the mailing list for an Expression of Interest pack, please contact SUNfest coordinator Kathy Andrew, Gladstone Festivals & Events on 4972 5111.
