Season's Greetings from GRAGM
With Christmas almost here and 2016 "wrapping up" too, the staff at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum prepare to close the doors for the holiday break and look forward to the New Year ahead.
NEW TO SEE: The summer exhibitions were launched last week with Cr Cindi Bush officially opening, 'Appropriate / Not Appropriate: Works by Felicia Lloyd and Belynda (Bindi) Waugh,' 'A Place to Call Home? Migrant Hostel Memories' and 'GRAGM Curated: A Bit of Everything'. All three exhibitions will continue on display into the New Year.
CHRISTMAS CLOSURE: The Gallery & Museum will be closed between Christmas and New Year's; 24 December 2016 until 2 January 2017, inclusive.
SAVE THE DATE - FAMILY FUN DAY: The Gallery & Museum will host ‘The Gabori Sisters: Gathering by the Sea on Tour', as a FREE family fun day, between 10am - 1pm, Saturday 14 January. Families are invited to participate in an exciting program of specially designed hands-on activities, developed by Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAG|GOMA) Children’s Art Centre in collaboration with Elsie, Dorothy and Amanda Gabori. 'Kids on Tour' is offered as a free program to regional Queensland communities through the Gallery’s Regional Services department.
JANUARY EXHIBITION LAUNCH: The next official launch at the Gallery & Museum will be held from 11am, Friday 20 January. 'Take a Seat' celebrates the work of Down syndrome artist, Peter Rowe, and is an exhibition of paintings focused around the concept of chairs as a metaphor.
