QAL History Launch!
Join Liz Cunningham, Member for Gladstone, at the launch of the new local history publication, When QAL Came to Town: Living Through the Construction Years in Gladstone 1964-1967.
This social history written by Bronwyn Roper takes a closer look at how Gladstone's landscape changed dramatically during the construction of Queensland Alumina Limited and is based on the firsthand accounts of those who lived through the rapid changes.
The launch is being held at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum on Saturday 20 October at 11am and is in conjunction with the local history display, The Giant That Never Sleeps: 40 Years of QAL 1967-2007.
To RSVP your attendance at the launch please contact the Gallery/Museum on 4976 6766.
This history publication is supported by the Gladstone and Calliope Regional Arts Development Fund and Queensland Alumina Limited.
