Meet the Curator: Dr Jenny Sanzaro-Nishimura

From 10.30am, Saturday 24 June 2017. FREE. Audience questions encouraged

All are welcome to join Dr Jenny Sanzaro-Nishimura (BVA Hons, GCHE, DVA) at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum on Saturday 24 June 2017 for a Curator's Talk of 'Works from the 2012 and 2016 Pacific Perimeter Print Exchange: Vie De Pacifique–Pacific Life / Vie Du Pacifique II'.

Starting at 10.30am, take an hour long walk around the exhibition space with the Curator as she speaks about the diversity of the artists and the printmaking techniques featured, including traditional, digital and variable edition monoprints.

The Pacific Perimeter Print Exchange:

This innovative exchange of contemporary prints was first initiated in 2011–12 as 'Vie de Pacifique–Pacific Life' by Dr Jenny Sanzaro-Nishimura while she was president of Impress Printmakers Studio, Brisbane. It was implemented to give printmakers in the Asia Pacific area an opportunity to share their work with an international audience and have a voice on issues that face the region.  The second Pacific Perimeter Print Exchange, 'Vie du Pacifique II', was curated and coordinated by Dr Jenny Sanzaro-Nishimura and Jennifer Stuerzl from Migaloo Press in 2016.

Dr Jenny Sanzaro-Nishimura and Migaloo Press generously donated 'Vie de Pacifique–Pacific Life' and 'Vie du Pacifique II' to the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum Print Collection in April 2017.

Both print series have been shown internationally and are now available to view locally, until 22 July 2017.
