Last Days to Vote for People's Choice

'Golding Showcase: Port Curtis Callide Valley Youth Art Exhibition' is in its final days of display at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, closing 6 August 2016.  Running annually for 22 years, the highly popular exhibition features works in all mediums by local visual art students, aged 15 to 18 years.

This year's 'Showcase' is larger than ever with collaborations from eight local high schools including Biloela State High, Chanel College, Faith Baptist Christian School, Gladstone State High, St Stephens Lutheran College, Tannum Sands State High, Toolooa State High and Trinity College.  Eighty-eight innovative artists submitted more than 110 vibrant artworks, featuring paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, assemblages, photography and moving image.

When visiting, guests are encouraged to vote for the coveted 2016 People's Choice Award.  The winning work will be announced at the conclusion of the exhibition and will become the "face" of all publicity material for the following year's exhibition.  Estie Lowe, a year 12 student from Faith Baptist Christian School took out the Award last year with her mixed media artwork, 'Contrasts'.  Which young artist's work will be chosen as this year's winner?

'Golding Showcase' is an initiative of the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum Society, supported by the late Society patron, Mr Cyril Golding (1920-2012).  The Gallery & Museum is opened 10am - 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
