Gladstone Arts Council AGM
The Gladstone Arts Council Inc hosted their Annual General Meeting (AGM) Wednesday 2 November 2011 at 22 The Oaks Rd, Tannum Sands, electing a new committee for the coming year.
Dr Christian Thomsen accepted the nomination for President. He thanked the outgoing committee for their efforts this year and welcomed the incoming committee with a challenge to present an exciting year of events for the community.
"There was a lively discussion at the 2011 AGM with the newly elected committee energised to put forward their wish list of events for 2012, at the next meeting," he said.
"We are working towards significant multi-arts opportunities for the Gladstone region, in affiliation with the Queensland Arts Council."
The members enjoyed an impassioned poetry reading by Vice President Mr Wesley Walker, including Roland Orzabal's Mad World.
The Gladstone Arts Council Inc. committee for 2012 is President, Christian Thomsen, Vice President Wesley Walker, Secretary Lee McIvor, Treasurer Crystal Linderberg, Schools Liaison Officer Lorna McGrath and Publicity Officer Di Paddick.
The Gladstone Arts Council’s aim is to invigorate the cultural life of the community by encouraging artistic expression, establishing networks and providing opportunities for participation in arts and cultural activities.
