Exhibition Floor Walk with Margaret Worthington and Allan Andrew

Following on from a fantastic exhibition launch at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, the artist’s behind Industry Sited within the Environment are inviting interested Gallery visitors to join them on a Floor Walk & Talk of the display.  Local artist Margaret Worthington, the creator of the aluminium sculptures in the exhibition and photographer Allan Andrew join forces with their artistic interests for this Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL) inspired display.   In conjunction with the exhibition there is an Interactive Kids Zone which encourages children to play and learn in an exciting hands-on way, while allowing them to be creative and free within the Gallery space.

Long time friends, Margaret and Allan have united their interests in a seamless display of colour and playfulness and the exhibition is a tribute to their respect for each others skills.  During the Floor Walk Margaret will discuss (with the use of a PowerPoint display) how Industry Sited within the Environment was a personal journey triggered from a university assignment to Public Gallery exhibition, while Allan will discuss how his aerial photography printed on aluminium, compliments and distinguishes the exhibition.  Margaret, Marion Hayes and Lyn Hughes will then discuss the ideas behind the Interactive Kids Zone which they developed together with the assistance of Rainbow Valley Early Learning Centre.  Questions from the audience will be encouraged on the day.

The Floor Walk will go from 10.30am until 12noon Saturday 9 February.  It is a FREE event and everyone of all ages is welcome to attend.  Bookings appreciated ph (07) 4976 6766.

Open 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum is located on the corner of Goondoon & Bramston Streets Gladstone QLD 4680, with FREE admission.  Industry Sited within the Environment is on display until Saturday 23 February 2013.
