Council operating hours during the Christmas and New Year Period

Gladstone Regional Council is advising residents of its venue and facility operating hours during the Christmas and New Year period.

Administration Offices and Depots

• Phone enquiries will be taken 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on (07) 4970 0700
• Council’s Administration Offices and Rural Transaction Centres will close on Friday, 24 December and resume normal hours on Tuesday, 4 January 2022
• Depots will also close on 24 December and reopen on 4 January, as per normal hours

Transfer Stations and Landfill 

• Benaraby Landfill and all Transfer Stations will be closed on Christmas Day and will operate as normal on Boxing Day and Public Holidays in December.
• Tip Top Shop at Benaraby Landfill and Gladstone Transfer Station will be closed on Boxing Day
• Kerbside bin collection services will occur Monday to Friday as per usual schedule during the Christmas period.

Facilities

The following community facilities will close on 24 December and resume normal hours on 4 January:

• Gladstone Regional Libraries
• Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum (GRAGM) 
• Animal Pound Facility – no appointments available during closure period
• Philip Street Communities & Families Precinct 

Tondoon Botanic Gardens is open every day (except Christmas Day) 7am-6pm.

Council’s Cemeteries will be available for vehicle and/or pedestrian access (depending on layout of facility) throughout the Christmas and New Year period. The gates to Port Curtis, Calliope and Boyne Tannum Memorial Parklands will be open to vehicles and pedestrians between 8am-6pm on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Funeral services will be unavailable on 25-28 December and 1-3 January. 

Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (venue and Box Office) will be closed at 4.30pm on Friday, 17 December and reopen at 8.30am on January 4. Bookings and tickets to events can still be made via www.gladstoneentertainment.com.
