Celebrate International Museum Day
Celebrate International Museum Day at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum from May 14 to 20, 2007.
This year's theme for International Museum Day is Universal Heritage and the Gallery/Museum is hosting a number of free events to mark the occasion.
Throughout the week there will be a range of dinosaur-themed activities for our younger visitors.
On Thursday May 17 at 9:30am the Gallery/Museum is hosting a special preview of the Australian War Memorial's travelling exhibition Sport and War. The floortalk, led by the Australian War Memorial's Acting Head of Travelling Exhibitions, Jane Murray, and Exhibitions Assistant, Sven Knudsen, will be followed by a morning tea.
Sport and War will be officially launched by Lieutenant Ed Dahlheimer, 42nd Royal Queensland Regiment, Gladstone, with special guest speaker Ben McEachran, four time Australian Light-Heavyweight Champion, on Friday, May 18 at 6.30pm.
To RSVP your attendance at the preview or the launch please contact the Gallery/Museum on 4976 6766 or email gragm@gragm.qld.gov.au
