Calling for submissions "Sounds of the Gladstone Region"
The Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum is calling on the community to submit their newly recorded sounds of the region, to be played as part of the Gladstone Regional Council’s entry in the 2019 Gladstone Harbour Festival Street Parade.
In conjunction with the 2019 theme “The Parade of Colour and Sound”, Council’s entry, designed by local artist Rosemary Anderson, will feature selected images from the Intercity Images: Gladstone Saiki Photographic Exchange, wrapped over a replica of a local landscape icon.
For your chance to participate and share your region’s sounds with the community, submit a 30 second audio recording to the Gallery & Museum, by 4pm, Friday, 12 April 2019.
Be sure to cheer on the community’s “Sounds of the Gladstone Region” selections from 4.30pm, Sunday, 21 April 2019, as they are broadcast from the Parade along Bryan Jordan Drive, through the Marina Parklands, over the Marina Bridge and finishing at 21 Lord Street.
Hosted in conjunction with the 2019 Gladstone Harbour Festival, the Parade of Colour and Sound Street Parade is presented by Workforce International and supported by Midday Rotary.
