Brush up on your grant writing skills during free workshops

10 February 2020

Have you got a great innovative arts, culture or heritage project that needs financial support?

Brush up on your grant writing skills with Flying Arts Alliance Inc. during one of three FREE intensive grant writing workshops, hosted in conjunction with Gladstone Regional Council's Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) 2019-2020 Round One.

The workshops will be presented by Sonia Louise Cozens, an AWGIE Award nominated and internationally credited writer, development consultant, writing lecturer and arts manager.

Gladstone Region Councillor and RADF chair, Glenn Churchill said Ms Cozens is well recognised with vast experience across different types of media.

“Sonia has been commissioned to develop, write and consult across a broad range of screen content, including projects aired on the ABC and Network Ten,” Cr Churchill said.

“Qualified with a Master of Arts & Entertainment Management as well as Post-Graduate Certificate in Professional Writing, Sonia’s passion for arts and screen advocacy is well demonstrated.”

Join Sonia for group sessions discussing grant writing, partnership development and agreements, followed by two 40-minute one-on-one opportunities, where you’ll be able to intensely focus on your own project needs.

“This is a chance to develop great arts business skills, invest in your funding submission success and connect with an industry expert,” Cr Churchill said.

“The group sessions will be held from 10.30am-2pm and one-on-one sessions held between 2.30pm-4pm at a number of venues across the region.”

The FREE grant writing workshops will be held on:

  • Thursday 5 March at Captain Creek Community Sport & Recreation Association, 111 Murphy Road, Captain Creek
  • Friday 6 March at QCWA Hall, 2 Bloomfield Street, Calliope
  • Saturday 7 March at Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, Cnr Goondoon and Bramston Streets, Gladstone.
