Award-winning Artists to speak at Art Awards: Artist Talks
Six Award-winning Gladstone and Rockhampton artists will provide insight into their work and artistic practice during FREE Art Awards: Artist Talks at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum on Saturday, 10 November 2018.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said this is a great opportunity for members of the community to meet the artists and hear a personal account about their works currently on display.
"Artist Talks is a popular public program which provides interesting contextual information from the artists themselves," Cr Burnett said.
“I’d encourage all members of the community to support the amazing work at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum has put into this.”
Gallery & Museum Curator/Manager Jo Duke said this event will provide a greater connection between audience and artist.
"These Talks enable the community to connect with the artists and gain a greater appreciation of the influences behind their works,” she said.
“I have no doubt each artist will present a fascinating discussion about their work and processes.”
The FREE Artist Talks are held in conjunction with ‘The 43rd Rio Tinto Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards 2018’, currently on display at the Gallery & Museum until 9 December 2018.
