GAC aims to invigorate the cultural life of the community by encouraging artistic expression, establishing networks and supporting opportunities for participation in arts and cultural activities.

In 2014, the GAC supported the multi-arts extravaganza Animating Spaces Gladstone Frolic, acted as auspice for seven successful local artist funding submissions as well as hosted the annual Green Scenes: Environmental Short Film Festival and partnered a bursary opportunity.

GAC is affiliated with Artslink Queensland (formerly Queensland Arts Council), which is one of the largest regional arts networks and not-for-profit community based arts organisations in the state.  Artslink Qld is supported by State and Federal Governments, as well as working closely with local Councils to play a national advocacy role for regional arts as this state’s member of Regional Arts Australia.
