Reflections of Yesteryear
Using the traditional medium of oil on canvas, Marie Green examines the everyday lives of Queenslanders living and working in tough conditions between 1880 and 1980. In particular, Green focuses on the 'normal' activities that ordinary Queenslanders did once, but no longer do now. The exhibition also includes a digital component with photographs and oral histories relaying first person anecdotes and stories behind a number of the paintings on display.
This exhibition received financial assistance from the Gladstone Region Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), a Queensland Government and Gladstone Regional Council partnership program to support local arts and culture.
