ANZAC Day Exhibition 2022
On 19th February 1942 more than 188 Japanese aircraft attacked Darwin's harbour and airfield. It was the first and the largest foreign attack ever mounted on Australia.
This exhibition commemorates the 80th anniversary of the bombing.
While serving in the Australian Army, Corporal Max Martin Murchie wrote every day to his wife – over 600 letters were received and kept…
On display are photographs of the bombing, medals and paybooks from the time, letters, memorabilia and personal items from Corporal Max Murchie, along with Darwin Military Museum’s DVD Attack on Australia.
Join us from 16 April – 28 May to reflect and commemorate on this important milestone in Australia’s history.
