Oral histories, photographs and memorabilia

Featuring the stories of local Special Seniors, prepared and presented by selected Year 8 students of Toolooa State High School, to celebrate Seniors Month in Queensland (1-31 October 2021).

Nominated Special Seniors are over 70 years of age and have lived in the area for more than 30 years. Nominations for 2022 can be sent to the Our Priceless Past coordinator, Di Paddick at the Gallery & Museum, by phoning 4976 6766 or emailing gragm@gladstone.qld.gov.au

Inspired by the 2021 Our Priceless Past stories the short film project features a series of short films created by local filmmakers Katrina Elliott, Wezzy Crüze, and Photopia Studio, as well as First Nations filmmaker Aunty Kaylene Butler, who have worked with participating Special Seniors and two further community Elders to share their treasured memories.

The short films premiered at Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre Wednesday, 4 May 2022.
