2014 Rio Tinto Alcan Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards

8th November - 11th December 2014

The 39th annual Art Awards, supported by local industry, businesses and the community, is calling for entries between 30 October and 1 November 2014. With a lucrative prize pool of $34,750, the Awards are open to all artists over the age of 15.

Section 1:    Easel Paintings
Section 2:    Works on Paper
Section 3:    Three Dimensional and Fibre Works
Section 4:    Digital Works

QAL People's Choice:

Come along to the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, Monday to Saturday, 10am - 5pm, to view the '2014 Rio Tinto Alcan Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards & Exhibition'.

Vote for your favourite pieces in 4 sections: (1) Easel Works; (2) Works on Paper; (3) Three Dimensional and Fibre Works; (4) Digital Works; to be in the running for a trip for 2 to Heron Island*.

Voting closes Wednesday 10 December at 12pm.

Limit of one entry per person. The prize consists of 2 nights twin share accommodation in a Turtle room for 2 adults. Buffet breakfast daily for 2 adults. Launch transfers from Gladstone harbor for 2 adults. Strictly subject to availability and blackout dates apply. Prize valid until 11 December 2015. Only one entry per person. The competition is open to all people who view the '2014 Rio Tinto Alcan Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards and Exhibition' at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum within the competition dates. Competition opens 6pm Saturday 8 November and closes 12pm, Wednesday 10 December 2014. The winner of the competition will be drawn at QAL Community House, 15 French St, Gladstone, Wednesday 10 December 2014. Winner will be notified by phone, listed on the web page at www.hereforgladstone.com.au and will be invited to attend the Cocktail Function, Thursday 11 December 6.30pm.
