Join artist Natalya Hughes in conversation to unpack the ideas and development of this newly commissioned installation. Natalya will speak to the research that

Donna Maree Robinson is a Queensland based, award winning multimedia artist whose site specific projects blend large scale video projections, public art, gallery installations, and filmmaking.  

In this workshop participants will learn how to create digital artworks from images created on the day or from previous artwork.

Participants will work together around the theme of NAIDOC 2025 (6-13

Celebrate Central Queensland artist Tim English as we officially open his exhibition CQ Coastal, a lifelong love of the ocean and shoreline are explored through a collection of vibrant paintings from the artist’s own experiences.

‘Drawing Is Seeing’ is a fun, interactive workshop demonstrating that the ability to draw isn’t some innate talent inherited by a lucky few, but rather a skill stemming from keen observation.  

Participants move through a series of simple drawing exercises designed to break down self-limiting beliefs and find confidence on the page, and a journey from “I can’t draw…” to “Look what I drew!”

Join Megan Herbert - Political Cartoonist of 2024, Harry Bruce - Queensland based political cartoonist and PCOTY finalist, and Matt Jones - Curator at Museum Of Australian Democracy At Old Parliament House (MoAD), to discuss the exhibition Behind the Lines and political cartoons in today's world.

Drawing Is

Learn watercolours with local artist Margaret Worthington.

Paint your own simplified colour wheel using watercolours then create a painting of flowers using the colours found in your colour wheel.

In this workshop you will discuss the high intensity bright colours used by the Impressionists and their use of complimentary colours.

All are welcome to join the Official Opening of two local exhibitions, Bustard Head land sand sea spirits by Margaret Worthington & The Other Side by Jeanette Albury, Leanne Cole, Linda Ebenestelli and Claudia Wehrli. 

The artists will present an artist talk about their works and process, followed by an opportunity for questions and light refreshments.

This FREE family fun day let's children catch a glimpse into the lives of their peers from Japan, through a variety of hands-on educational craft, role play dress up's, face painting and objects on display, as part of the annual Saiki Children's Day exhibition.

Using your own reference picture of an ocean landscape, local artist Charlotte Orgill will teach you her techniques to create a finished Ocean Lines style artwork. Using acrylic paint and a squeegee tool, you will learn and experiment using key elements of your photos composition, and leave with your own completed canvas artwork.
