Young Dancers Association Creating a Simple Wire Headpiece Youth Workshop

What's provided: Participants will design and create their own headpiece frame to complete the embellishment at home. MILLINERY WIRE WILL BE PROVIDED
Bring: Participants should bring their preferred range of drawing materials - pens, pencils, sketch book paper as well as 3m of thin ribbon and /or braid (max 5mm) in a colour of their choice, a pair of small jewellery / craft pliers.
Anastasia La Fey is a costumier, couturier and collector of fine vintage garments.
With an integral philosophy rooted deep in the practice of true craftsmanship, her explorations of cloth span the realms of both art and design.
With a particular interest in costume for dance, Anastasia is pleased to be the costume designer for the Young Dancers’ presentation of The Magic Toyshop, and excited to share the art of costume/fashion design with the Gladstone Region through four exciting workshops.
YOUTH WORKSHOP #2: Creating a Simple Wire Headpiece
An introduction to the principles of designing headwear for stage/ performance. A demonstration of working with millinery wire will be given, showing all basic techniques required to create a simple wire headpiece frame and introducing embellishment and finishing techniques.
