The Art and Science of Shorebirds Workshop

Saiki City and the Gladstone Region are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the signing of declaration of friendship. To commemorate this milestone anniversary, the Saiki Sister City Committee are inviting the Gladstone residents to the unveiling of the Saiki Shorebird Artwork. Before the ceremony, residents are welcome to join the artist and writer, Margaret Worthington and Allan Briggs, in the Art and Science of Shorebirds workshop taking place at Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum.  

 

2pm-2.30pm - Illustrated talk by Allan Briggs on the three birds featured in the sculpture as well as the Latham’s snipe. Information about the amazing migration of the Shorebirds. 

2.30pm-4pm - Practise drawing these birds in pencil and then create a watercolour painting. Good quality materials will be supplied.

COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS 


In line with the health directive, all visitors will be required to wear a mask indoors and provide proof of vaccination (if they are 16 years or older) on entry. People with medical exemptions, and can provide the relevant proof, will also be permitted entry.
