Tickets are on sale now, for the Gladstone Regional Council's exciting 2011 SUNfest Youth Holiday Program and all are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.

This summer's calendar is packed with plenty of exciting workshop opportunities in film, drama, visual arts, sports and fun, fun, fun.

Get involved in the exciting Bazil Grumble Clay Animation workshops, with visiting artist Grant Hodges and local sculptor Brenda Lyon.

This weeklong program will challenge you to develop your own script, create your plasticine characters and edit your short film for presentation on the big screen at the SUNfest finale event.

On the world wide stage, this new media art form is gaining plenty of attention with social websites, such as YouTube, providing a platform for artists to have their work viewed globally.

SUNfest 2011's Clay Animation workshops are supported by the Gladstone Region Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) a Queensland Government and Gladstone Regional Council partnership to support local arts and culture.

The Gallery/Museum will also host the ever popular FilmFest and Jo Williams' Self as Art self portrait workshops for the 12-17 years of age and for the 8-11 years look out for Sensational Star Books and Feather Boa Puppets during the second week of the program.

The SUNfest calendar has been delivered hot off the presses in the Council Connection this month and all your booking information is available online at http://www.gladstonerc.qld.gov.au/gec/events.cfm
