School Holiday Printmaking Workshops

Explore your creative side these September school holidays with these Printmaking Workshops being held at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum.

Try your hand at basic printmaking or expand your art portfolio. At the completion, invite family and friends along to see your work on display at the official launch of Marks and Motifs: Prints from the Print Council of Australia.

Two programs are being offered to accommodate different age groups.There is a two-day hands-on introduction to basic printmaking techniques for Grades 3-7 and a three-day program for students in Grades 8-12 who wish to explore different printmaking techniques or want to expand their art portfolio. Techniques will include monoprinting, embossing, collographs, drypoint, etching and handcolouring.

Workshops for Grades 3-7 will be held at 10am-12noon on Tuesday, 26 and Wednesday, 27 September. The cost is $5 per day or $8 for two days.

Workshops for Grades 8-12 will be held 1-3.30pm on Tuesday 26, Wednesday 27, and Thursday 28 September. The Thursday workshop will be followed by the official launch of Marks and Motifs. The cost is $7 per day or $18 for three days.

Guiding you through the workshops is local teacher and artist Deb Morgan. Deb is a qualified teacher and has taught secondary art for many years. With a great passion for printmaking she has attended professional printmaking workshops and is associated with printmaking artists' groups.
