Take the opportunity to head out to the Tondoon Botanic Gardens from 9am to 3pm this Sunday June 5, for plenty of eco-friendly opportunities, during Gladstone Regional Council's annual EcoFest celebrations.

This year's EcoFest theme is 'Small Change Creates Real Change,' highlighting how the community can help the environment by making small lifestyle changes.

In support of this year's EcoFest event, local artist Felicia Lloyd will be in residence on the day to present two digital art workshop opportunities, reflecting on the 2016 theme, for filmmakers and photographers, aged 8 to 15 years.

"Participants will create a short collaborative video artwork using Adobe Premiere software," Felicia said.

"They will explore layering still images, video footage and text, use transitions, effects and filters to create a time based artwork."

The FREE one-hour workshops will be held in the Gardens' Visitors Centre Gallery during Ecofest, from 10am and from 11.30am.  Numbers are limited so bookings are essential.

Felicia will edit the works together to create a single film for display on the day that will later also be uploaded to the internet for all to enjoy.

For bookings and further information, please phone 4976 6766 or email gragm@gladstonerc.qld.gov.au

The workshops are supported by the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, a community cultural initiative of the Gladstone Regional Council.
