2024 Volunteer Christmas Lunch

We held our annual Volunteer Christmas Lunch at the Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct, on Thursday, 12 December and a wonderful time was had by all!

The event began with a watercolour workshop led by local artist Ping Carlyon, followed by a presentation where we shared the combined total of 1748 hours volunteered in 2024.

During the presentation we also recognised volunteers who reached milestones in our rewards program. Gayle Black was the first to reach the 100 hour milestone in April, followed by Grahame Smith in May, then Valerie Tolo and Mobeen Hanid in June. Mark Munro reached his milestone in July, and Anne Ewins in August. Volunteers who reached this first milestone were presented with a red “V” lapel pin, to be worn on the GRAGM volunteer uniform, a visible reminder of their active involvement in the community.

We also celebrated volunteers who reached the second milestone of 200 hours: Gayle Black in October and Grahame Smith in November. These volunteers were presented with a beautifully engraved metal pen, inscribed with the words “THANK YOU,” a small gift to remind them of their valued contributions every time they use it.

The presentation ended with prizes by announcing the volunteer who contributed the most hours in 2024. Gayle Black was our winner with an impressive 232 hours, earning a $100 gift card. Grahame Smith followed closely with 211 hours and received a $50 gift card.

The volunteers then enjoyed a Christmas roast lunch with GRAGM staff, Cr Muszkat, Cr Holzheimer, and Cr McClintock, who presented each volunteer with a certificate to end the event.

We can't thank our volunteers enough for their continued support and look forward to working with them again in 2025.
