2011 Green Scenes: Environmental Short Film Festival winners announced
Central Queensland film makers had a spot in the limelight during the Gladstone Regional Council's EcoFest celebrations last Sunday June 5, when Queensland Alumina Limited Managing Director, Phil Campbell and Gladstone Arts Council President, Christian Thomsen announced the winners of the 2011 Green Scenes: Environmental Short Film Festival.
Eight exceptional entries were received in the competition this year, including three primary school submissions and the judges had a challenging task to determine the prize winning entries.
And the winners are:
Best Film Award: Forests - Nature at our service by Kruize Leahy
Highly Commended Award: A Young Girl's Dream by Tara Dent
School's Award: Forests - Nature at your service, through the eyes of children by Boyne Island State School students
People's Choice Award - Forest Floor by Beryl Wood
Green Scenes was initiated in 2008 in support of the annual EcoFest event and is made possible with the continued generous support of Queensland Alumina Limited, Gladstone Arts Council's project partners since inception.
