The 41st Rio Tinto Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards 2016, supported by local industry, business and the community is currently on display until 5pm, Thursday 8 December 2016.
Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum (GRAGM) selects exhibition in several strategic ways that reflect community desires and tourism drivers, while maintaining our commitment to growing and developing regional creative talent. We also introduce our audiences to cultural content from other regional and national centres to continue to broaden their knowledge and experiences.

To celebrate the Tattersall’s Club’s 150th anniversary and 25 years of their national Landscape Art Prize, 15 Award winning works from their collection are touring Regional Queensland. The Queensland Country Women's Association (QCWA) are holding their annual state conference in Gladstone from 24 - 28 October 2016. Featuring the stories of local Special Seniors, prepared and presented by students of Discovery Christian College to celebrate Seniors Week in Queensland (13-21 August 2016).
Official opening and launch of the publication by Cr Matt Burnett, Mayor Gladstone Region and guest speakers, 1pm Thursday 18 August 2016. A light lunch will be served from 12pm.

'The Gas Imaginary' is an ongoing project by artist/writer Rachel O’Reilly, begun in 2012, consisting of poetry, drawings and film screenings exploring the material imagination of modern versus unconventional extraction. This is the first presentation of the project’s drawing series in the artist’s hometown of Gladstone, and has been produced in collaboration with PA/LA/CE
Selected works in all media by young artists 15 - 18 years of age.
Visitors to the exhibition are encouraged to vote for their favourite artwork to receive the ‘People’s Choice Award'. The winner will be announced at the exhibition's conclusion and will become the face of all publicity materials for the following year's exhibition.
