Celebrating 18 creative makers who transform the passé, retro, kitsch and re-usable into works of art and collections of distinction, Regarding Retro presents reanimated discarded items from op shops into imaginative provocative fashion, film, photography, ceramics, installations and collages.

Accompanied by a series of photographic portraits presenting a series of unusual collectors, surrounded by their treasures. The exhibition explores the psychology of collecting - Bower Birds of providence and provenance - who have amassed quirky collections outside the mainstream antique market.

A Blacktown Arts Centre and Hervey Bay Regional Gallery collaborative exhibition supported by Australian Government Program Visions of Australia and toured by Museum & Gallery Services Queensland.
