10 Years of Friends...In Art

-

The local art group ‘Friends in Art’ meet at the Gallery & Museum again for a combined exhibition of their artworks to celebrate a successful decade.

In 2005, 'Friends in Art' began when a core group of artists decided there was a need for a new art group in the area, one with less structure and more variety in activities.  The group wanted to have a new outlook on what it meant to be an 'art group', but most of all they needed a familiar place to call home.

'Friends in Art' now meet almost every Friday at the Gallery & Museum from 10am and range from complete beginners to more experienced artists.  In a social environment they participate in weekly lessons, planned by the group as a whole, and practice using a variety of art mediums. Newcomers always welcome.

Official exhibition launch: 6pm, Friday 6 March 2015
