For many decades Pat has worked as an academic and writer and a regular contributor to national arts journals and contemporary art debate and development.

Pat recently left her position at Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, to concentrate full-time on her own art practice. In acknowledgement of her long dedication to research and teaching, the University awarded her the title of Professor Emeritus.
