Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum (GRAGM) selects exhibition in several strategic ways that reflect community desires and tourism drivers, while maintaining our commitment to growing and developing regional creative talent. We also introduce our audiences to cultural content from other regional and national centres to continue to broaden their knowledge and experiences.

Drawing on objects and photographs from the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum’s permanent collection, the exhibition highlights the role of the sea in shaping military experience, transport, and remembrance.

This exhibition evolved in response to the post-lockdown freedom to spread our wings and travel again, to document the journey and the recollections of the experience.
The works depict parts of sites encountered by the artist, taking snapshots of a significant small patch of the ground, incorporating the natural environment and what lies there.

Inspired by a revival of childhood memories after her grandmother’s passing, the artist presents a series of artworks that combine a varied range of mediums as ceramics, glass, copper and printmaking. Two Girls From Amoonguna is an exhibition featuring new work by Arrernte and Southern Luritja artist Sally M Nangala Mulda and Western Arrarnta artist Marlene Rubuntja. Encompassing video, bush-dyed, handsewn soft sculptures and observationalist paintings, it recounts their intertwining stories of friendship and resilience.
The centerpiece is an animated work titled Arrkutja Tharra, Kungka
