A selection of Award winning artists will feature at this year's Art Awards: Artist Talks, from 10.30am, Saturday 16 November 2019. This free program is run in conjunction with The 44th Rio Tinto Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards 2019, on display at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum until December 5.

This year's guest speakers are:

  • Kevin Duthie: Winner of The Rio Tinto Martin Hanson Memorial Art Award, Sponsored by Rio Tinto and QAL, for his work Ghungalu Land Blackdown Tableland
  • Ping Carlyon: Winner of The Inaugural Pamela Whitlock Memorial Acquisitive Award, Sponsored by Gladstone Regional Council, for her work Apparently I’m Chinese Taipei
  • William Debois: Winner of The Gail Sellers Local Artist Award, for his work SHELVING – Part #1: Ancestry
  • Leanne Cole: Winner of The Natalia Muszkat Photography Award in Section 2: Works on Paper, for her work The Family Zoo

The talented artists will each present a discussion on their work, preferred techniques, backgrounds and creative processes. The talks aim to highlight these artists' practices, while delivering a meaningful and engaging program to the community.

All are welcome to attend the free Art Awards: Artist Talks, with audience questions encouraged.
