Unique Opportunity To View Original Illustrations From Popular Children's Storybooks On Now!

Brand new to the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum is the vibrant exhibition, 'The Picture Book Art of Gregg Dreise, Dave Hackett and Lucia Masciullo'.  Available to view until August 13, the imaginative display features original illustrations from popular children's book author/illustrators.  The exhibition runs in conjunction with the 2016 Curtis Coast Literary Carnivale (CCLC), held July 24 - 27. 


This year's CCLC event brings five talented author/illustrators to the Gladstone Region for a number of exciting storybook themed events including the exhibition's official launch as well as multiple creative workshops, a panel discussion and a literary dinner.


On Sunday July 24, flex some creative muscle during 'Write On!' workshops held at the Gallery & Museum.  The fun-filled workshops, for adults and teenagers, will be held from 9am to 3pm, over two sessions.  Workshops include 'A Special Silly Event' with Gregg Dreise, 'Write Well: Effective Strategies for Creative Writing' with Jacqueline Harvey, 'No Rules Cartooning' with Dave Hackett, and 'Illustrating Picture Books' with Lucia Masciullo.  More information and booking forms are available from CCLC: http://carnivale.gladstonerc.qld.gov.au/


The next day (July 25,) the Gallery & Museum will host the official launch of 'The Picture Book Art' exhibition from 6pm.  All are invited to celebrate with Gladstone Regional Council's Cr Cindi Bush and guest speakers, with light refreshments served afterwards.  RSVP to Gallery & Museum on 4976 6766 or gragm@gladstonerc.qld.gov.au.
