Submission of entries for the 12th Annual Golding Showcase: Port Curtis and Callide Valley Youth Art Exhibition have been extended to 4pm, 31 July 2006.

The Golding Showcase will be on display in the Gallery/Museum from Monday, 7 August until Saturday, 2 September. Last year the exhibition showcased some excellent works by young local artists, 15-18 years old, and this year is looking just as good with many young artists rising to the challenge and producing works of a professional standard.

The Golding Showcase is an excellent opportunity for students to view their own work displayed professionally and to learn more about the curatorial processes involved in presenting an exhibition such as the selection, mounting and labelling of works. The exhibition also comprises a People's Choice component where one work is chosen by the public as the face of the 2007 Golding Showcase. Last year's People's Choice was Stephanie Waghorn's Reaching Out.

Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum Society's patron, Mr. Cyril Golding, continues to support young artists in the region by sponsoring the Golding Showcase and the Society Bursary. Mr Golding's ongoing generosity enables both initiatives to be offered again in 2006.

If you are 15-18 years old and would like to submit work created since June 2005 please bring your artwork with a completed entry form into the Gallery/Museum between 9am-4pm 26-31 July.

For further entry guidelines please refer to the entry form.
